At Fischer Farms, we are committed to supporting your mission of providing nutritious and delicious meals to students and are working on collaborative strategies to help as we move to more direct purchase partnerships.

Every season brings a challenge on the farm, but this winter has been especially interesting. Read more about how we keep our cattle comfortable during an Indiana winter.

Recently, we began working with a school corporation that is close to home. So close in fact, that we can sometimes even hear students playing at recess from across the fields- Southeast Dubois County School Corporation.

Cattle adapt to cold weather and bring circulation to the center of their body to keep warm in the cold.

Fischer Farms has spent the last 20 years forming relationships with area farmers and producers to help them expand their market for their local and sustainably raised products. Recently with the support of the Climate Smart Commodities grant from the USDA, the number of farmers has grown to over 35 with plans to assist over 70 farmers by 2028.

Fischer Farms has developed a made-to-order supply chain for regional meat systems to better compete with the very large processing plants across the country.

Fischer Farms performed a number of nitrogen reduction trials in 2024 through their research as part of the USDA Climate Smart Commodities grant, Ultimate Beef Research Project. The success will be carried into 2025 applications!
