We are a farm, and like any farm there are numerous people who share their time and talents each day to help us grow and learn. No one can work in the food system alone and the work we do, and have done for the last 20 years, takes collaboration and partnership.

It is our hope to highlight the many areas of our farm and how the research we do is impacted by the different partners in education we have.

Travis Gogel a Resource Soil Scientist for the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) working primarily in Southwest Indiana.  He has worked for NRCS for 18 years, educating both internal and external customers about soils and soil health.

He has been assisting Fischer Farms by collecting soil samples which will be used to measure different soil properties for the Ultimate Beef Project, also known as the Partnerships for Climate Smart Commodities grant.

In addition, Travis has been working with other soil scientists on a Dynamic Soil Properties (DSP) study at the farm.  The results of this study will collaborate well with the Ultimate Beef Project to quantify the relationship of how different agricultural practices can impact the soil over a specific time period.
