Wednesday, we had the honor of hosting a busload of farmers from around the world, Germany, Australia, England…. They came to Covington, KY for the International Grassland Congress this week. Fischer Farms was an optional day trip for us to explain how we use Annual Ryegrass for Fall/Winter/Spring grazing and chop it for silage in May. Recently, we began working with a school corporation that is close to home. So close in fact, that we can sometimes even hear students playing at recess from across the fields- Southeast Dubois County School Corporation.

Fischer Farms has spent the last 20 years forming relationships with area farmers and producers to help them expand their market for their local and sustainably raised products. Recently with the support of the Climate Smart Commodities grant from the USDA, the number of farmers has grown to over 35 with plans to assist over 70 farmers by 2028.
