In the hustle & bustle of the usual farm activities, I do try to stop frequently to enjoy the beauty of the farm. Now with a high powered camera in my pocket, it makes it easy to save these moments. Here’s a picture of the sunrise over a farm pond this week with the green fields in the background.

The picture was taken last week as I was spraying beneficial bacteria & fungi on my beloved ryegrass. We now have 280 acres of beautiful green ryegrass fields which is such a contrast to most of the crop acres in Indiana that are brown all winter long. (I won’t go into a ryegrass, carbon sequestering stump speech today…) It does give me great pleasure when my 90 year old father comes back from one of his drives through the farm and is beaming with pride in how green everything is!

We do offer an open invitation to our customers & supporters to come visit the farm yourself. The leaves are past their peak but still beautiful. We are going to do a Customer tour date on Monday Dec 6th. Our farm is 2.5 hours south of Indianapolis and we can try to arrange car pooling or help with directions.

Agenda:

11am – Tour of new St. Anthony processing plant

12:30pm – Lunch at Dave & Diana’s house overlooking farm

1:30-3pm – Tour of Farm

Let us know if you are interested in making the tour, friends and family welcome as well!
