This is a busy time of year on the farm, we've got baby calves being born, fields to plant, and other summer projects like fencing and small construction projects that are best done in the dryer summer weather. 

Picture is Ace helping us move a wayward steer back into the field who ventured out of the pasture.

The Importance of Dry Dams on the Farm

Monday, we received 4.4 inches of rain, most of it overnight as heavy storms moved through. By Tuesday, I checked our dry dams to make sure everything was holding. The result was simple but telling- very little water had collected.
