Outside Sales Representative (1)

Our growing family-owned company is seeking a motivated sales professional to join our sales team. The ideal candidate will build existing customer relationships, actively engage potential customers and develop new customers by promoting the Fischer Farms brand to wholesale customers (e.g., restaurants and retail stores).

 

A successful candidate will have an outgoing personality, food sales experience, and be comfortably independent. Understanding of the wholesale food landscape will be critical to developing and retaining new business through collaboration with restaurant groups, food service organizations, and distribution partnerships that Fischer Farms possesses.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and tell the story of Fischer Farms (Premium, Natural, Local, Climate Smart)
  • Make sales calls.
  • Identify new sales opportunities to generate new business
  • Follow through on inbound sales leads
  • Develop creative partnerships with institutions and other organizations with shared values
  • Collaborate with distribution partners to extend sales reach
  • Visit existing and prospective customers regularly to maintain relationships (no overnight travel required)
  • Constant communication with sales, marketing, and processing teams


Agronomist

Fischer Farms Natural Foods, LLC (FFNF) is a rapidly growing family run business in southern Indiana. FFNF currently sells beef, pork, turkey, chicken and maple syrup to restaurants, institutions (such as Indiana University, Butler University and others) across Indiana and neighboring states. FFNF has received a Climate-Smart USDA 5 year grant to expand the efforts in sequestering Carbon and building soil health while working with small farmers in Southern Indiana and Kentucky.

Fischer Farms Natural Foods (FFNF) has an open position for agronomist. A degree in agronomy and agricultural experience is required. Fischer Farms is expanding it’s operation to work with more network farmers who will produce beef and pork utilizing Climate-Smart practices to sequester carbon and improve soil health. 2023 through 2028 FFNF will be working with the USDA to develop Climate-Smart practices via new research with expectations to continue this work after 2028.

Responsibilities:

-       work with network farms to educate the farmers and make recommendations to implement climate-smart practices.

-       work closely with a top-notch team of scientists and experts from universities & local agronomists

-       responsible for working with NRCS Technical Service Providers (TSP) to create nutrient management plans

-       develop nutrient & fertilizer management plans for many network farms

-       lead research in comparing annual rye grass-based cover crop mixes and summer annual mixes based on soil type, planting date and grazing timing and harvest plans

-       lead education training seminars on the value of cover crops and their impact on the soil biology

-       create and maintain community test plots

-       take soil samples and maintain history to confirm improvements in organic matter, carbon sequestration and soil health.

-       Become a trusted resource to work with the network farmers as they create a plan on what cover crops to plant and creating a nutrient management plan.

The job is based near Jasper, IN with frequent travel within 150 mile radius in southern Indiana and Kentucky that is reimbursed.

Starting salary is $80,000 with paid holidays, vacation, medical insurance, matching 401K, cellphone service, monthly meat boxes and annual raises. 


Herdsman

Fischer Farms Natural Foods, LLC (FFNF) is a rapidly growing family run business in southern Indiana. FFNF currently sells beef, pork, turkey, chicken and maple syrup to restaurants, institutions (such as Indiana University, Butler University and others) across Indiana and neighboring states. FFNF has received a Climate-Smart USDA 5 year grant to expand the efforts in sequestering Carbon and building soil health while working with small farmers in Southern Indiana and Kentucky.

Fischer Farms Natural Foods (FFNF) has an open position for beef herdsman/network builder. A degree in animal science and experience raising beef cattle is required. Fischer Farms is expanding it’s operation to work with more network farmers who will produce beef utilizing Climate-Smart practices to sequester carbon and improve soil health.  The Herdsman will initially be responsible for a herd of over 2,000 cattle throughout the network.  As FFNF’s network expands this will be in excess of 5,000 cattle.

The position will continue after the 5 year USDA project.


Responsibilities:

-       work with network farms to identify and improve the cattle genetics. 

-       create feed rations to meet quality and cost objectives

-       supervise cattle record system utilizing CattleMax

-       educate and monitor grazing rotation program

-       implement vaccine and cattle handling protocols and cattle health protocols working closely with FFNF veterinarian

-       explain Climate-Smart incentives and FFNF protocols to ensure top quality, natural cattle are produced

-       expand the network by explaining the benefits to potential network farmers.

Starting salary is $80,000 with paid holidays, vacation, medical insurance, matching 401K, cellphone service, monthly meat boxes and annual raises.


Accountant

Fischer Farms Natural Foods, LLC (FFNF) is a rapidly growing family run business in southern Indiana. FFNF currently sells beef, pork, turkey, chicken and maple syrup to restaurants, institutions (such as Indiana University, Butler University and others) across Indiana and neighboring states. FFNF has received a Climate-Smart USDA 5 year grant to expand the efforts in sequestering Carbon and building soil health while working with small farmers in Southern Indiana and Kentucky.

FFNF is hiring an accountant to perform detailed accounting activities to maintain accurate financial records, report key metrics and data submission and monitor overall financial health. The ideal candidate has a degree in accounting and experience working with an accounting system.  The job is based in St. Anthony Indiana with some work from home possibilities.


Responsibilities:

-       work with FFNF’s accounting firm and systems support team to implement an accounting system that meets the requirement of annual government audits

-       track accounts receivables, payables, payroll, sales and inventory for both financial and managerial accounting as our business grows

-       provide financial information to accounting firm for taxes

-       file and pay appropriate payroll and IRS forms

-       managing cash flow and bank accounts

-       file appropriate information on a timely basis to USDA

After the conclusion of the project, the accountant will continue in a full-time role for Fischer Farms Natural Foods conducting business related accounting activities.

Starting salary is $60,000 with paid holidays, vacation, medical insurance, matching 401K, cellphone service, monthly meat boxes and annual raises.


Network Builder - KY

Fischer Farms Natural Foods, LLC (FFNF) is a rapidly growing family run business in southern Indiana. FFNF currently sells beef, pork, turkey, chicken and maple syrup to restaurants, institutions (such as Indiana University, Butler University and others) across Indiana and neighboring states. FFNF has received a Climate-Smart USDA 5 year grant to expand the efforts in sequestering Carbon and building soil health while working with small farmers in Southern Indiana and Kentucky.

Fischer Farms Natural Foods (FFNF) has an open position for network builder-KY. Experience raising beef cattle and working with farmers is required. The ideal candidate will be trusted by a vast network of cattle farmers in Kentucky. Fischer Farms is expanding it’s operation to work with more network farmers who will produce beef utilizing Climate-Smart practices to sequester carbon and improve soil health. 2023 through 2028 FFNF will be working with the USDA to develop Climate-Smart practices via new research and expand the network of farmers with expectations to continue this work after 2028.

This position is part-time with expectations of 24 hours per week and no benefits.


Process Manager

Fischer Farms Natural Foods, LLC (FFNF) is a rapidly growing family run business in southern Indiana. FFNF currently sells beef, pork, turkey, chicken and maple syrup to restaurants, institutions (such as Indiana University, Butler University and others) across Indiana and neighboring states. FFNF has received a Climate-Smart USDA 5 year grant to expand the efforts in sequestering Carbon and building soil health while working with small farmers in Southern Indiana and Kentucky.

Fischer Farms Natural Foods, LLC is hiring a Process Manager to oversee the construction, setup, & installation of the new efficient meat processing equipment and systems.

Responsibilities:

-       conduct hiring and management of processing personnel in the new facility

-       improve efficiency of the new processing facility and associated equipment

-       incorporate green initiatives across the processing facility so that all products that pass through the facility are processed in a climate-smart way. This will include incorporation of solar panels, efficient equipment, energy-efficient building design and processes, recycling, etc.

-       work with large customers such as Indiana University, on creating new products

-       monitor quality and inspection process to ensure our customers quality expectations are met.
